going home is expen$ive~

everyone knows that sydney is one of the most expensive cities to live in...
i dont have any plans on moving back any time soon (since i have a contract here till sept 2011), but its sad to think that the exchange rates are going the wrong way for me....
since i arrived in korea, the exchange rates have just... kept climbing...
sure... its all good for those who want to come and visit korea... but just like in feb this year when i went back for a while... the money that i take from korea to sydney is like.... chump change....
grrrrrr....... i dont even know if korea has the ability right now to ever pull it back together....
i remember when $1 was like 650 korean won..... ah~~ i wish that would happen again....

renewed soccer hype~!

the korean under 17's girls won the FIFA world cup... they beat japan in the final in a penalty shootout....
its under 17's girls soccer... but what it has done is bring back this soccer hype in korea again....
only a month ago, the under 20's team came third in their world cup... and that (at the time) was the best performance in a FIFA tournament...
the soccer hype timing was kinda perfect coz tonight was the Bolton vs Manchester Utd match in the english premier league... this was advertised as the "korean derby" match, coz the 2 korean stars play for the respective teams....
for me, its a good hype coz i've been so busy at work recently, its nice to have good soccer matches to watch on tv.... also the NRL, AFL finals have kept my weekends worthwhile....
the AFL.... well... i would have put up a post about the AFL final today, but the grand final was a draw... and they are going to replay it next saturday..... next sunday is the NRL final.... so.... next weekend should be an indoor, glued to the TV weekend for me in seoul~
ah.... what am i going to do after the footy finishes??

what is happening??

we had over 2 weeks of continuous rain.... it was roughly 16 consecutive days of rain in seoul....
then we had about 40 hours of no rain.... and during that day, it was a wonderful, sunny afternoon.....
on that day, not only myself, but the majority of households and businesses were doing their laundry so they can put it out to dry.....
personally... i was hoping for the end of the rain... coz im currently living in a leaky house... and its driving me insane.....
boy was i wrong in judgment~!! i think today, we had the HEAVIEST rainfall yet~! it wasnt bucketing down.... it was like mother nature shooting a water cannon on seoul.....
so to sum up.... first we had the rainy season.... which goes for roughly 3 weeks.... then less than a week after that "supposedly" ended... we had 16 days of constant rain...... the typhoon followed that... then we had 1 and a half days of nice weather before having the heaviest rain yet....
i have seen enough rainfall for the remainder of 2010.... plz....
is australia still in the midst of a drought?? if anyone in korea says they are having a drought, im gonna slap them silly~!!

still raining....

despite my last blog over 2 weeks ago saying rain rain go away... it has continued to rain... EVERY F-ing DAY!!!!
my house is so damp, soggy, disgusting~~~
i would really love to move out..... if only i could get my bond money back....
all this rain is making everything a drag.... after the rainy season.... it has not rained more.... and korea is being hit with a typhoon as i speak..... so there's only going to be more rain for a few more days.... the only difference with a typhoon is.... ur umbrellas become useless... and u just have to get wet.....
all this damp weather is making me think of sunny sydney more and more....
the latest hit of nostalgia makes me want to be a uni student all over again....
i realised that when i was in china, i was having a lot more fun... a lot more alcohol...? does that really relate to fun?? a lot more.... ummm.... socialising.... does that relate to fun?? probably....
well... korea has kinda made me the anti-cho of china.... totally opposite.... i guess its a dramatic step to find a balance in life?? haha....
also when i was in china, i was still keeping in touch with the uni group more.... but now.... i guess everyone is busy.... everyone is tied down to their jobs.... some are busy making wedding plans.... some wish they had someone to make wedding plans with.....??? me??
ah well.... when the rain stops, im vowed to get off my bum and be more active... maybe not to the extent of china... i think... there is a difference between being 22 and 26..... is there?? maybe not.... but i think there is definitely a difference for me being in china as to korea.....
i dont get that "foreigner" feeling here so much... so i guess thats what stops me from being a wild-child like in china.... also in china nobody cares if ur a wild-child.... but here.... image and appearance is everything....
meh~ i wanna start making weekend trips around the country....
first things first..... let the rain stop now!!!!!!
Dear God,
Turn off the tap please!!!!!!!!!!
Amen.
